Luz Living’s ethos is one of participative involvement from both its shareholders and potential customers/residents. From architect selection to design choice, to the definition of on-site amenities, a broad range of stakeholders have been consulted. These participants have come from five continents, a dozen nationalities and been investors, shareholders, potential buyers and future long-term residents who either wish to buy or rent.

Due to planning constraints, the architects have taken the approach of defining an area per apartment which may then be “sculpted” into different apartment types. These will broadly be as follows:

  • Twenty-nine 2/3 bedroom apartments of around 90 m² (969 sqft) internal area plus terraces.
  • 5 apartments with 2 bedrooms and 73 m² (786 square feet) with terraces.
  • 4 apartments of 1 bedroom with around 55 to 60 m² (592 a 646 square feet) internal area plus terraces .

  • Terraces of apartments on floors 1 and 2 will be approximately 17.5 m² (188 sqft). The terraces on the ground floor will be between 40 and 60 m² (430 and 645 sqft). The important factor to bear in mind is that in all internal design the size of living areas will be given priority over the size of bedrooms. All apartment types, sizes, locations and views preliminary and subject to final planning. Each apartment will have an allocated underground parking space as well as a private lock up storage room. These are included in the price of the apartment. Five larger lock up garages will be available at an additional cost.

    Features

As a result of the feedback, together with the planning parameters permitted on this urban plot, the team has worked on:

  • A functional design which is practical while allowing a true residential community to develop. Many of the practical elements of modern-day living such as wi-fi, full accessibility, communal spaces and leisure activities are treated as standard.
  • An architectural design which is both modern yet not too disparate from the design trends or the village of Luz, nor too stark when compared to surrounding buildings.
  • An environmentally sympathetic approach which has minimised the footprint of the build area to around 60% of what could be allowed under municipal plans, and allowed for a large green, landscaped area. Not only will this improve the living quality of residents but also create an urban green space of a dimension seen in few other developments in Luz.
